Rowan-Cabarrus Foundation

Scholarship Applications Closed June 1

Scholarships are provided through the Rowan-Cabarrus Foundation and the generosity of many individuals, organizations, and businesses within our region. A scholarship review team determines the recipient for those scholarships awarded by the College. Students who are on academic or financial aid suspension are ineligible for scholarships.

The scholarship program consists of two kinds of awards: merit-based scholarships and need-based scholarships. Scholarships are also awarded on a competitive basis applying the following criteria: academic excellence, achievement, leadership qualities, need or other criteria stipulated by contributors.

Awards are usually restricted to tuition assistance and require the recipient to maintain a minimum GPA to continue the scholarship. Awarded funds not used during the academic year are returned to the scholarship and do not carry over from year to year. Students must re-submit a scholarship application every year.

How to Apply for Scholarships

  1. Scholarship applicants must apply to Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
  2. Applicants must also submit their FAFSA form to the Federal Student Aid programs beginning January 1 of every year. (Select “Rowan-Cabarrus Community College” using school code “#005754” in the “Colleges to Receive Information” section.)
  3. Applicants can then apply for scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year using their student credentials!

Applicants can apply for scholarships for each academic year beginning February 1. The deadline for all high school scholarship applications is March 15. General scholarship applications for new and returning students, which high school students are also eligible to apply for, remain open until June 1.
